I followed the moderators instructions on a different post in this community, to fix problem of exercise not automatically registering...eg for walks over 15 minutes. I have a charge 5.
After doing suggested charge reset, switching off phone, logging in and out, Bluetooth off And on again, Now I have a new problem that the exercise day's for the week appears to have been wiped! But step data is still there. Anyone have idea if this can be recovered? Thanks

I’m actually having the same issue. It started Monday and has not tracked the “workouts” since. All 4 days. I did all the same things you did and it still hasn’t synced right. It’ll show in zone minutes, steps and even the heart rate part but not in the workout area. Even though I manually put my watch in workout mode.

Hello @Suzieoodot & @Athompson7
There's an issue on the Fitbit side.
I looked at the Fitbit Status Dashboard website and saw that there was an issue with the Web API starting around the beginning of September. This impacts data syncing and is apparently the reason why we're having problems with seeing our exercise data in the Fitbit app. The current status is still showing the Web API issue as of today, 07 Sep 2024. So, they must still be working on fixing the problem.
Please be patient. I'll keep checking the status daily. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before it's fixed and we see all our exercise data again.

I'm seeing a similar issue. None of my logged activities are showing up in the Fitbit iOS app. It looks like all my workouts that were explicitly logged using my Charge 5 have disappeared in the app. The steps still show up, but they are not linked to any activity.

Just noticed that none of my "exercise" using the exercise shortcut on the fitbit charge has been tracking in the app for all of september as well. Tried manually logging in the app and it immediately disappears! Spent about 45 min trying to do all the troubleshooting stuff with no luck. Something obviously is broken wiht the app/service. Finally found this recent post with people in sept 2024 having the issue! Hope they fix this soon!

I googled a bunch and am glad to finally find this thread. I've been troubleshooting for days. I also sync peloton workouts so I was checking on that end also.

Hello @Bex17 @FilterBox
I saw a Moderator post today (12 Sep 2024) acknowledging the syncing issues and data transfer errors. He said that the team is working on identifying a resolution as quickly as possible.
For now, there's nothing more that we can do on our side.

I have a Charge 5 and I am having the same issue. Workouts initiated on the Fitbit are not synced as exercise days in the app and no detailed workout data for those workouts is available in the app. The app shows I have 2 exercise days but my Fitbit shows I have 5 exercise days. This issue started about a week ago about the time of the last Fitbit app update.

Have you heard of any fixes for this data transfer error and sync error?
I have an Inspire 3 and I was having problems with my walks and spinning classes not tracking properly or at all. I uninstalled the Fitbit App and reinstalled it and now I have no daily activity at all. I can not even access past data. The Exercise days area on the App dashboard is just grey blocks.

I'm surprised there still has not been a fix. I keep uninstalling, rebooting, powering phone, reconnecting fitbit device to account. I temporarily got a few excercise days back over the last several months. I previously had exercise entries for every single day for months. I am connected to Peloton and have a years-long daily streak.
First, Exercise days was greyed out. Couldn't click from home menu in app.
Second, after troubleshooting, I had four workouts showing in the entire month of August, nothing in Sept (all four are peloton, none are Fitbit detected walks, etc). Most of history was erased.
Third, after more troubleshooting, back to greyed out.
No word from fitbit????

Hello @jjfeigal , @Bex17 , @KJMat
I haven't seen any updates on this issue yet.
I have seen some users report that they have seen some of their exercise data return, but not all. That indicates to me that the team is actively working on the fix and that they are making progress. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before the problem is fixed. The resolution can't come soon enough for all of us, especially since we rely on our Fitbits for tracking our exercise.

Is anyone still having this issue? I am doing a 30 day exercise challenge and today is day 30. I now have 6 days showing no exercise when they previously showed exercise.

I continue to have this problem with Charge 6. I workout daily. I'll show exercise days on Monday - Wednesday for example in the app. Then, on Thursday, my workout for that day will show up, but Tuesday will show no exercise. As the week goes on, I eventually lose Wednesday and Thursday activity as well.

My workout data from my Charge 5 actually started to appear after I updated my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18.0. After the update I went into Bluetooth settings and selected “Forget This Device” for my Fitbit. I re-paired my Fitbit with my iPhone and most of the workout data from the walks that I Start on my Fitbit are appearing in the Fitbit App after syncing. The only data that is still missing is Pace information for each mile of my walk. Only incomplete/incorrect data for the first mile of the walk is listed.

Same for me - I've had the inspire 3 since the end of August. Half of my Spetember exercises are gone - a week went missing, then additional days disappeared one by one over Sept 9-23. There's not much point in owning/wearing a fitbit that doesn't keep track of your exercise data properly!

I'm on an android using an Inspire 3 and am still having this same issue. I just saw that there is a Fitbit update for the watch and am trying that now.

Hello @Laura985 , @kodamafit , @Bex17 , @jjfeigal , @Nikkid23
From the user reports I've seen, there is still a syncing issue on the Fitbit side between the Fitbit app and Fitbit servers with our historical data. I've seen several Moderator posts acknowledging the data syncing issue and that the team is working on a fix.
The positive news is users are reporting that even though their Fitbit app doesn't show their recent workouts, their Fitbit weekly progress email shows the correct number of exercise days. So, it looks like our historical data is being uploaded to the Fitbit servers, but the issue is causing us not to see the data in the app.
I'm not sure if the fix will be an app update or if this is something that can be fixed on the back end. Please keep checking periodically for app updates, in case that's how the fix will be implemented.
