Exorcise mode defaults to walk

The past two weeks every time I go for a run my charge 5 will default and register it as a walk sometimes not even registering my full milage until I close/reopen the app multiple times

Hi, @1lilspark welcome, You do not mention how you start your run in your Fitbit, do you manually start it from the exercise shortcut or allow the auto-recognize function to start it?

Swiping left or right from the clock face home screen to exercise and then touching "Run" is the best way. If "Run" is not at the top of the shortcut list you can edit the position in the Fitbit app on your phone. From the "Today" screen touch the device icon in the top left>Charge 5>swipe up to & touch "Exercise Shortcuts" You can slide "Run" to the top by using the hamburger icon as a handle. The next time you sync your Fitbit app the new order will be mirrored on your Charge 5.

If you are relying on the Auto-recognize function review the settings by adjusting them in the Fitbit app on your phone. From the Today screen touch your icon in the top right>Fitbit settings>Activity & wellness>exercise>touch each exercise in turn, ensure the auto-recognise slider is in the on position, adjust Runs longer than & SAVE. If you set the "Runs longer than" to less than the time for "Walks longer than" you should get run recognition rather than walk. You could of course turn off walk at the slider.

Once you have the settings as you desire sync your Fitbit app.
