Fitbit Charge 5- Issues in setting up!

Hi, I've got a charge 5, I've only had it 2 days and I'm having issues in setting it up. It's fully charged. I've got a Samsung Galaxy Flip3. I've downloaded the fitbit app, created an account. When trying to set up the fitbit I get to the stage where the fitbit has been found and it just says connecting for a while and this is as far as I get. My actual fitbit just keeps displaying a message telling me to download the app. Help please?! First time buying a fitbit not been a great experience so far!

Hi, @Shepptista , welcome to the forums!

 

There is currently an issue of compatibility with Fitbit and Android 13.  Fitbit is aware of the issue and expecting a fix in “early 2023”.  You can find more information on this issue and get updates by following this thread .

 

Having said that, a user recently posted that the Samsung firmware update ...VL9 fixes the problem.  That answer was for a Flip 4, but if that update is available for your phone, it would be worth a try.

 

If there is no update for you then in the meantime if you have a tablet or older phone available you could set it up and sync using that. Most features will work even if you are only able to sync once every few days or so.  The Charge 5 will store detailed info for approximately 5 days, and detailed info for as much as 30 days.  Unfortunately you will not be able to receive notifications on your Flip phone until the issue is resolved.
