Fitbit Charge 5 & app

Soooo many issues!  First,  I just  signed up with a user name as I've not posted on here before.  It says I have a 3 year anniversary, which is funny because I got my first Fitbit In 2017!

Next my change 5 got the black screen of death while on vacation.  All was well when I put it on the charger.  When I tried to put it on,  the screen was black.  I went to Fitbit's site, did the 3 pulse thing 8 times. I had it stuck on the logo.  I looked further,  there was a series of steps to try... force stop fitbit app, turn off Bluetooth, restart phone,  turn on Bluetooth and reopen fitbit.  Tried that 3 xs, nothing.  Then it said to unlink the charge 5, delete the app, reinstall the app and relink the fitbit.  That didn't work and I could not get the fitbit to relink to my phone. I finally contacted customer service via chat,  they asked me to tell them all the steps I took,  and I did.  First thing the guy says to me is to do the 3 pulse thing.  I already did.  Ok, fitbit will email you.  The email said I'm out of warranty and we've exhausted all our fixes (they told me one,  I found more than that online), and I'll have to buy a new one.  But they'll give me a percent off.

I've been having so many issues with it not synching,  not tracking walks like it used to always do, not automatically detecting aerobic workouts.  It says I'm swimming laps when I fold laundry, the sleep tracker isn't working well.  I will not be getting anymore fitbit products,  this is my 4th one and sadly,  it has gone so far downhill I'm looking into other brands.  Anyone have any luck with another brand that tracks the same things around the same price point?

EAT1977,

I feel for you.  My Charge 2 refused to synch after a few months.  Charge 4 just gave up after about 9 months and gave a black screen.  Charge 5 lasted maybe 9 months went into a black screen, the remanufactured replacement had intermittent GPS and real flaky heart rate measurement until last month when it went black screen.  Still vibrates sometimes during the press the button 3 times exercise but that is all.

I am very disappointed with the reliability of all of my FitBit devices.  On my other wrist is a Timex Triathlon that is 20+ years old and has gone through several batteries.  Still works, still waterproof and cost about $30.
