Fitbit Charge 5 battery failure

When I plug the charger, the watch display shows charging activity. After a few hours the charge level shows 99% (never 100%). When I remove the charger to use the watch, the battery does not hold charge. I plug the charger on the watch and again it restarts and shows 1% charging.

Fitbit Charge 5 battery has failed.

This is not even used 5 months.

I have the exact same issue.  Called Fitbit and after troubleshooting they offered a small discount on a new device.

My fitbit 5 did the same thing. It didn't last a year.on the other hand, my fitbit 3 will still work if i charge it. I was really disappointed fitbit 5. my guess is that fitbit six will be a problem too.  this might be my last fitbit.

My Charge 5 lasted 13 months 🤬 This is my third Fitbit and it is the worst one. I’m checking out the Apple Watch and others.  Fitbit should be offering a new 6 for a minimum of 50% off.  This product has been progressively been performing worse over the years. I can no longer  support what used to be a good product, but is so bad now.

sounds to me like a lot of people are disgruntled with fitbit.
