Fitbit Charge 5 battery problems since update

How many of you are experiencing battery problems since the update?

Could anyone who's experienced problems with the charge 5 battery please post once on this thread so it's easy to count and present to show it's not a warranty problem and is a result if the update.

I obviously have battery problems. Had to charge it twice yesterday and uninstalled the SpO2 app to try to make the battery last through the night. Managed to wake up to 50% battery instead of it being dead by morning, even though fully charged before bed.

Hasn't been right since. Now Fitbit is dead. Not charging, not vibrating, black screen. Leading up to this was telling me it needed charging. Put it on the charger and it was reading 47% immediately.

I’ve had battery problems for a few days now. My Charge 5 won’t sync, too.

Started having issues last month with battery lasting about a day and a half if I was lucky. Only getting worse. I just bought the dang thing!

----

Mine quit syncing earlier this week, didn't realize until yesterday when it disconnected from the app and it's locked and I'm unable to connect it back to my phone/app. Waiting on customer service to email me. Saw another post there have been people having syncing issues since yesterday. Feeling like this is too weird for all of us to be having singular problems here.

I recently had the same issues.  Went from charging a couple of times a week to not holding a charge for more than 3-4 hours.  I had purchased it in March of 23.  I did get a new Charge 5 but I think it may have had to do with having purchased a two year warranty.  Others mention being told you could update to a 6 for 50% of the normal cost.  I was told that also, but when following the email to get replacement, that option appeared, but had a note stating it was discontinued in January 2024.  It was also presented just before submitting, only to not be allowed if I clicked on the option.  Probably my last Fitbit as well as my husbands.  Several in a row that lasted about a year.

I'm done unless things really get better. Hate to say that, since I've been wearing one and using the app for the last 8-ish years, but the customer service, or lack there of, that I've gotten since initially reporting my problem two days ago sent me looking for an alternative. I'll wear my Charge 2 until that gets delivered. Even though the screen is pretty well cracked, it's syncing and recording the information that it was designed to. Really sad to say that the five year old device is doing that better than the year and a half year old one! What happened?

My Charge 5 was charged up this morning because it died through the night. When I got home from errands, it was 18% and once again it is dead !!

I've tried all the fixes- sounds like many others have said if it's over a year old we're out of luck. I have missed having it but seems like it's time to change brands. I haven't tossed it in the trash yet in the hope they will release a fix (since it charges fine, just drains completely in less than an hour)

Several weeks of losing (and apparently at one point, gaining) charge but also not waking and stopping counting when definitely charged.  This not waking issue is now daily so only half (or close),  of my steps being counted and i can't see the time half the day. Utterly ridiculous

Mine is black, dead and won’t accept a charge. I have filled all the steps, cleaned it thoroughly and did the steps again. Still black and dead.

Mine is the same purchased in November 23 ...and it was a replacement for a previous faulty tracker

Same here - my Charge 5 has started to completely drain its batter In a couple of hours. It’s only three months old and reading the posts on the forum I’m inclined to cut my losses and go for another brand

I'm having the same issues. On Saturday I chraged it as normal. By Sunday the app was telling me the battery was low so Icharged it again.

By monday morning I had a flight and noticed the battery was completely gone so I haven't been able to wear it all week. Fitbit need to sort this issue out now otherwise I will not be buying a new one.

Same here. Mine is not even 2 years old. Mine is having the battery issue and when I do where it, it says my heart rate is like 150 to 165 when I am doing nothing. So, now it just keep driving me crazy with the hits from zone minutes.

Very shameful that there are so many people with unsatisfied purchases

I have not found a solution. My Charge 5 is completely dead and connecting
it to the charger does nothing. Ch 5 is still dead. No action. My
charger does charge my friend's Fitbit. So...I'm pretty sure I have a bad
Fitbit after using it for only 8 months. I wonder if this has anything to
do w not signing up for premium.

My fitbit does what yours does, reneeshawgo, goes blank at random times after charging, only able to wake it up by plugging it into the charger, often seeing battery levels in the 90% range after doing so (and only need to do so for a couple of minutes). I seem to see a trend with vibrations causing it to go blank (if I feel two vibrations, I can almost always expect my watch to be black when I turn my wrist). I turned off AZM notifications, to stop the vibrations I can. I don't know if that helped, or if I'm just starting to get in tune with the dying trends of this watch. Sadly, I'm now carrying a spare charge cable with me most of the time.

I called customer service and asked if this was a scam to get us to buy a new device. Mine is dead and won’t take a charge. She assured me it wasn’t a scam. Oh really?
They sent me an offer for 50% off a new device but needs to be purchased within 30 days.

I charged mine on Saturday  and it was dead on Sunday morning.   Screen is blank and won't hold a charge.   I am super frustrated with the whole mess. I use it to track my food, steps, calories, etc.   I wish Google, or the powers that be, would at least say something or acknowledge there is an issue and let us know they are addressing the problem.  I have had several Fitbits over the years but I am seriously looking at other options.

PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEM!!!
