How many of you are experiencing battery problems since the update?
Could anyone who's experienced problems with the charge 5 battery please post once on this thread so it's easy to count and present to show it's not a warranty problem and is a result if the update.
I obviously have battery problems. Had to charge it twice yesterday and uninstalled the SpO2 app to try to make the battery last through the night. Managed to wake up to 50% battery instead of it being dead by morning, even though fully charged before bed.

At this point, I'm actively steering people away from the company as a whole if the topic is broached on any of my socials. I wonder how long it will be until the Charge 6 forum is as inundated with some future problem as this one has been for the better part of this year.

My charge 5 has basically become a plastic wrist decoration since the update. Totally unreliable as a watch as it now turns off randomly during the night or day. When I plug it in to charge the screen goes to the fitbit logo like it reset. Sometimes it says low battery and 10 mins later says it's 45%. Sometimes I plug it in to charge and it says it's 63% or more but it's turned itself off. When I do get it to charge, the time of the watch is wrong until it connects to Bluetooth via the phone app. I've been holding out for a fix for weeks now! I'm giving it 3 more weeks then will probably buy a Samsung watch. I've been with fitbit for many, many years and love the fact I usually just charge it for 20mins a day. I wear it all day and night and am so annoyed at this. My aria scale has also been removed so that is now bricked too. 🙁

I have nearly the same observation. This morning my Charge 5 was completely dead. After re-charging it to 100% it reduced its capacity down to 51% within 5 hours. Very frustrating. Must I charge it twice a day?

Unfortunately I do not get support by the chat-function.

Battery problems since update. Fully charged at 11:30am and 27% at 1:34pm. Before update I would get 2½ Days! This just might be it for me with FitBit!

Google/Fitbit disaster
Hello,
I think that the acquisition of Fitbit by Google is an unmitigated disaster for Fitbit users.
As can be read in this forum, there are a lot of problems with Fitbits. We users report problems, ask questions and hope for solutions. It is now clear that the Charge 5 is a bad product.
There are a number of well-intentioned users in the forum (moderators...) who help users as best they can to get things resolved. 😌 Well intentioned, but...sigh
But the real solutions must come from Fitbit. But Fitbit is no more. It has become Google. And Google is so big that it allows itself to not respond to the complaints of Fitbit users and push for real solutions and completely ignore them.😡
The Fitbit forum moderators are also unable to get problems really solved by Google.
Ultimately, I think Google wants everyone to buy a Google Pixel Watch. If they want to promote it, they could also exchange all the Fitbits for the Google Pixel Watch, which would at least gain a large group of users.
If car companies like Tesla, General Motors, Volkswagen, etc., would build and maintain cars this way, they would have been bankrupt a long time ago.
Google lives off our data and that is all they care about.
(I sympathize with all the moderators, but they are also victims)
This message will undoubtedly be deleted.

@Hendrik55 yep, I'm sure it will be removed. I've met so many people in business who have said they've decided to stop working for companies when the companies have become so big that they are no longer about their customers or their products and only about themselves. I think that's exactly what's going on here.

My Fitbit Charge 5 had been working fine up until yesterday 20/07/2024 when the screen went black and the battery charge dropped like a brick after being fully charged see status of watch on dashboard:-
I have tried everything to try and revive it. It still vibrates when I plug it onto the charger so I thought there might be hope for it. I will persevere for a while, but it seems strange that a lot of people on here are all having the same problems, then getting emails offering 40% discount on the Charge 6.

I would not buy a Charge 6 even with discount....😔

Same issue - there was an update last week apparntly which has resulted in my charge5 draining its battery in hours - 100% to zero in 3 hours !
