How many of you are experiencing battery problems since the update?
Could anyone who's experienced problems with the charge 5 battery please post once on this thread so it's easy to count and present to show it's not a warranty problem and is a result if the update.
I obviously have battery problems. Had to charge it twice yesterday and uninstalled the SpO2 app to try to make the battery last through the night. Managed to wake up to 50% battery instead of it being dead by morning, even though fully charged before bed.

How did they help you? What did they say?
I contacted customer support as well. They established that I ran through all my troubleshooting steps. Because my device was still under warranty (thank you, EU), I was sent a new Charge 5. It arrived a day later.

I spoke with support all they did was have me add it back to the app as if it were a new device and told me to wait 24hrs to see if that solved the problem. If not they told me I have to call back in tomorrow and see if there is anything they can do further to help. Pretty much useless.

I don't think swimming is the issue as I use to swim in it daily and it was fine. It was after the update I started experiencing prob. Initially I had frozen black screen. I tried connecting via the cable switch on buttons to restart. But battery keeps draining. Sigh!

I thought mine had randomly died but looks like I'm not alone. I can do the reset when it's plugged in and get it to 100% but I timed it and less than an hour it was 'critical battery 7%'. Any word on another update to correct the issue? I'm on my 2nd in 2 years but out of warranty- not sure I want another one at this point but I am missing it.

I have the same issue. Fitbit battery drains as soon as it's disconnected from the charger. It started suddenly a couple of days ago. So disappointed as I haven't found any solutions :(.

I charged mine fully on Sunday, took it off charge at 9pm on Sunday. By 11am on Monday the battery was dead. It’s not even a year old!

Following someone's mention that that he and his wife connected their Fitbits to different phones, I stopped looking at my fitbit data on my iphone XS. The fitbit lasted over two days. This indicates that connecting to the fitbit app on my phone was the problem. The next day, when the charge on my fitbit was 72% I had a message on my iphone. When I opened the iphone I saw a notification symbol on my fitbit app. I then clicked on my fitbit app to read the notification AND MY FIT BIT COLLAPSED. This seems to me proof that the data transfer from fitbit to phone is causing the problem. I have since deleted the fitbit app from my phone and have reverted to the normal length of time between charges.
I realise that this may not be the same for everyone
I may take a risk and reinstall the fitbit app some day in the future. In the meantime there is clearly a problem, unrecognised and unacknowledged by Google/Fitbit which is a disgraceful attitude.

If you uninstall the Fitbit app for the phone, you're basically removing the reason why you bought a fitbit in the first place. You can't log your activities or sleep anymore! Fitbit will be reduced to a watch.

Tried every method I can think of. Resetted my Charge 5 multiple times, uninstall and reinstall fitbit app multiple times, switch phone once (since I only have 1 spare phone both Samsung phone but different model), change different clockface, turn off bluetooth and basically did all of these without me wearing my Charge 5 so it ain't collecting any data. Yet battery still draining bloody fast and can't even last for half a day. Now I'm back to my old Inspire 2 and don't even dare to update the firmware eventhough there is one. Definitely moving away from fitbit.... considering moving to either Samsung or Coros.

After speaking with support two days in a row they won’t do anything about the sudden death of my Charge5 3 days ago that I have used for maybe a total of 2 months. They sent me a 35% off code to purchase a new one and told me they aren’t willing to do anything else. Poor company with poor support. Why would I ever give you more money.

Mine too, exactly--started a couple days ago! Drains upon disconnection. Tried all the fixes suggested. SO frustrating. Have loved FitBit for years and bummed at prospect of having to find other. Really SUCKS at the handling of things.

Same issue for me too. I have had my watch less than 7 months. Today it stopped tracking at 6:00 am and all my data is messed up or missing for the day. It had not synced to the app in 18 hours. Also I charged it at night and it went from 96% to 11% in 1 hour. But when I went into my settings it said the battery was full!

My Charge 5 was working great, no issues until a few days ago when I woke up to a dead battery. That was unusual as I typically only lose 10% of battery a day and keep my fitbit battery within 75%-85%. I plugged it in and it appeared to charge but it essentially dies within a few minutes. I've already gone through the support system and tried the 3 button presses as well as changing the clock face. Both worked as expected but neither fixed the issue so they confirmed my fitbit is dead. It was ~14mo old but because I'm in the US it's out of warranty. They did offer me a 50% coupon but it says "This discount is not applicable in the Fitbit Ace 3, Fitbit Charge 6 and Google Pixel Watches." I'm not sure why they think I'd like to buy another Charge 5 at 50% discount or a Charge 6 at full price. I did push for a better resolution but they said there is nothing further they can do. I'll be avoiding Fitbit/Google products for the foreseeable future.

Having same problems and very annoying as never had any issues before yet now battery won’t hold any charge at all.
