My Fitbit Charge 5 drains while im sleeping even though before this issue the drain was only 1% while now the drain from night to day is 75%. I have tried all the methods below and all of them had not worked. Please help.

  1. Confirm your Charge 5 has the latest firmware version. For more information please visit How do I update my Fitbit device? and What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update?
  2. Check to see if you’re using high battery use features. For more information please visit Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
  3. Confirm that you've restarted your Charge 5 as described here How do I restart my Fitbit device?

P.S I have noticed that battery drain is a common issue for Fitbit devices, I had a charge 2 before this and the battery drained so fast that I bought this, but now this is giving me the same result 😑😔

Thank you for sharing this David. I got my Fitbit watch for Christmas. That means I've only had it for 2 weeks. I never have drainage issues or things like that happen but the night before last I woke up in the middle of the night and my watch was off. It was at 82% when I went to sleep. I was shocked because I had not seen a fast drain on it before. I thought maybe I accidentally turned it off while I'm sleeping but I couldn't turn it back on. I put it back on the charger and the battery was completely dead. The watch has never done it after or before and I have no idea what happened. It kind of freaked me out. I'm a runner and I went running that evening so I don't know if that had something to do with it or not. Thank you for sharing. Last night when I was sleeping I had no battery drained so I'm not exactly sure what happened. Hopefully it doesn't happen anymore but I bought insurance on my watch and I'm a premium member.

I haven't got an reply from the customer support team for more than a week, My fitbit still has this issue. Even with all the options of to save battery like switching off always on display I still get only a day which is completely different from the advertised 7 days

@Tvanlengen1 Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with this. Let me know if you continue to experience the same problem with the battery or if it happened just this one time. Keep in mind that some of the feature that can drain the battery more rapidly are:

  • Built-in GPS (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 4 day when using this feature regularly, or up to 5 hours if you use it continuously).
  • Always-on display (Charge 5 can have a battery life of up to 3 days when using this feature).
  • Tracking SpO2 (Fitbit points out in this article that you may have to charge your Fitbit device more often when collecting SpO2 data).

You can find other recommendations to extend battery life in this article.

@runner165 It seems the Support had sent you a response via e-mail. Could you please check if your spam folder as well if you've received it?
