Hello! 
i just bought Fitbit charge 5.

I want to have the ECG function. Seems nice. When I want to install the app I can not find it. When I go on this link I can see App. I also can click on install, but than it seems like it does not connect to my watch.

I’m just wondering if you are in a country that has given permission for the ECG App or not.

 

If you click on this link and then scroll down to the bottom of the page you can see a list of countries where the App is available.  It might be good to check if yours is on there. Mine isn’t unfortunately.

 

ECG Countries  

 

If it is available in your country maybe try updating the Fitbit App (it should be on 3.55) and the Fitbit itself (it should be on 20001.149.11) might help it to appear.

Yes I read now through the topics. I‘m actually from Austria, but for 2 months in Croatia. 
(Croatia is not on list, but I bought it here)

Now I’m wondering if it is blocked on the watch itself before they sold it, or if it is IP dependent that I can use the feature in Austria when I’m back🤔 you have any suggestion? Otherwise I bring the watch back if it will not work when I’m back in Austria

Every Charge 5 is capable of running the App but different countries have different rules on it.  I would imagine it’s blocked where you are now but will appear when you go to a country where it’s approved.  As soon as the App is approved in each country it appears for download so I really think you should be alright when you get home.

 

A few people have said that their Apps suddenly disappeared when they went overseas but sadly didn’t come back to report on what happened when they went back to their countries.  I presume it went back to normal.

Ok i just solved it. You can download VPN on your phone. As soon as this is done and you set up right country the watch is, after you restated the app, automatically updating & you will find the App in the appbrowser on the watch to install
