I purchased a Fitbit 5 last year at the end of July 2023. At first it worked well, synched and I was able to track my vitals and daily workouts.. after about 6 months, the unit would not synch from time-to time, and finally the item completely failed in December while on vacation. The screen went black, and after trouble-shooting, was able to restore it but it failed again within 3 days. I haven't even had this item for a year!
I took it off after multiple attempts to get it to work, and each time it would work for a day or two at most before dying again.
I finally called customer service last month after the unit sat on my desk for a few weeks, it was completely dead at this time, and they sent a replacement.
The replacement is complete garbage. It essentially works with basic functions, but it stopped syncing after week, and now I can't even get it to stay connect to my iphone bluetooth. It's extremely frustrating as this troubleshooting on a daily basis to get my data takes a lot of my time.
I really want to have the full functions that's offered on these devices, but most of them don't work reliably (ECG for example).
I want to send this thing back. Is it worth upgrading to the Fitbit 6? Or should I scrap this device and go for a more reliable solution (apple watch??).. They would not offer me a discount on a new unit.. should I try to call back and hope for better? I just want to give up...
