Can you set up a Charge 5 to work with Google Maps?
reason being that the Apple maps is not very detailed and I think Google maps would do a much better job.

Hi, it's good to see you around the Community forums, @herbiesteve.
Thank you for your inquiry about the option to set up a Charge 5 to work with Google Maps.
This option is not available for the moment, but it could be a very useful feature. If you haven't done so already, I recommend that you vote for this idea posted in the Community forums and add your comments as well: Map Feature & Navigation Instructions eg Google maps.
If you have a different idea, you can also post a separate suggestion in the Feature Suggestion board of the Community, since this section is regularly monitored by the team of developers. Make sure to post your idea including as many details as possible.
See you around.

@herbiesteve I looked at your profile and can see that you are an iPhone user. The way I read your post, it sounds like you want Google maps as your GPS map in your exercise details in your Fitbit app. Sorry, but I think this is an Apple limitation. You have a web dashboard at fitbit.com. You log in with your same email/password with any web browser. Maps there are Google maps (and it was this way even before Google bought Fitbit).
There are many features on the mobile app that aren't on the web dashboard. The web dashboard hasn't been updated in a long time, so it doesn't show active zone minutes. But you can see your route in Google maps.
