The heart rate stop working. I completed all of the trouble shooting and nothing worked. After doing the forget device and starting over it will not connect to my phone. I get past the "found it" part, but it never connects. The "connecting to Fitbit" spins forever and it never shows up in the app.

I noticed you mentioned that you already tried a few troubleshooting steps. Before considering other options, please make sure that you've exhausted all the steps listed here for problems with heart rate, as they have been useful for other users having similar problems.
