First here's some intro material you might want to look at How do I get started with Fitbit Charge 5?
For your question, turn 'Screen Wake' to Auto in 'Quick Settings'. From main clock face, swipe down (scroll up) takes you to Quick Settings. Within Quick Settings probably have to scroll down to Screen Wake and tap it to change it from Manual to Auto.
That is a setting that often gets changed accidentally somehow.
Screen caps from manual:
On the outside chance that doesn't do it, you might be it 'Sleep Mode', also in Quick Settings, which also prevents screen from turning on with wrist turn.
