Hi, @Zebie , first make sure you give your new Fitbit a good charge, or keep it plugged in and charging while you do the set up, as setting up can take significant batter power. In order to set up your new Charge 5 you will need a smart phone or tablet running iOS 15 or higher and Android 9 or higher. Unfortunately it cannot be set up using a computer or laptop.
First you must download the Fitbit free app (from the Google Playstore or Apple App Store) if you haven’t already and create an account using your email address and a password (choose “Join Fitbit” when you launch the app for the first time. You will be prompted to set up a device. Keep your Fitbit near your phone during set up to make connection easier and because you will need to see your Fitbit screen as well as your phone.
Once you are logged in to the Fitbit app and start your set up you can simply follow the on screen instructions to get set up. Most users find the process completely straightforward, but if you run into any difficulties please do post again letting us know what phone you are using for the set up and where you are running into issues.
Good luck! I hope you enjoy your new Charge 5. And welcome to the Community Forums! You will find this a great resource for help if you do have any problems with your device.
