The update icon described in your messages about firmware updates for Charge 5 does not appear on my phone's Fitbit app, but there's apparently a newer version than the 188.58 currently installed. How do fix this?

Hi there, @Mattklionsky. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and bringing this to my attention. I will be glad to help you to update your Charge 5.
As a first approach, I'd recommend trying the following steps in the order listed:
- Restart your Charge 5
- Log out of the Fitbit app
- Force quit the Fitbit app
- Make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date
- Log back in to the Fitbit app
Wait a couple of days to see if you receive the update. If you don't, please let me know so I can further assist you.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

I have the same problem with my charge 5. I've never had any update icon since I bought it. I've tried to lot out, reinstall the app, reboot the watch, etc. I've tried everything I've read here, still no way to update my charge 5. I.m stuck at 188.58.

Hello @Jpgari
The app & firmware updates tend to roll out in waves.
Please give it time and continue to check in the app if you have the firmware update available to install.

Ok so, 3 months is not long enough to rollout an update? I've been trying since December release.

Hello @Jpgari
There was a firmware update last year that I never got. Apparently, they halted the rollout due to issues, which was fine for me.
Another of my colleagues recently mentioned that he thinks this latest firmware update might have been paused. So for now, we're probably better off waiting until one of the Moderators mentions that the firmware update has started rolling out.

I have the same issue. It looks like they stopped the rollout because of all the massive issues that are there (just search for Charge 5 battery drain issues, look at News and you will see it).
That being said. My charge 5 was updated to the latest version but immediately had battery drain issues, unresponsive screen, resets, etc. It was annoying. Contacted the store because I had warranty, the got me in contact with Fitbit and they send a new Charge 5. (So now I have two). This new one is still on 188.58 and no updates is available. It really looks like they stopped the rollout due to the issues.
