This is the 3rd time I've been thru this with Fitbit - it dies a sudden, unexpected death and there's no solution from Google.
I used the discount they offered and purchased the 6 and my family is laughing at me, saying I threw $ away.
It got me thinking:
~how long do you expect a fitness tracker to work?
~warranty for Europe is 24 months, USA is 12, I wonder why?
I don't buy the latest phone, TV or audio gadgets, but if like to get more than 14 months from my Fitbit!!

Hi, @SissyZ! My Charge 5 just died on me, but I've been wearing it for over 2 1/2 years. No indication of why, it just stopped working a few days ago. The battery was still at half and it still lasted me the better part of a week on a charge. I'm disappointed, but it gave me a lot, so I can't complain too much.

Same thing happened to mine a few days ago. It had been working fine, no signs of major battery degradation or anything. I was charging it about once a week like I always had since I bought it Nov. or Dec. of 2022 but then all of a sudden it was dead. I've done all the troubleshoot suggested with no luck. It could be that they pushed a bad firmware update and aren't acknowledging it or maybe they even just blatantly send code that prevents it from charging after you've owned for a certain amount of time. I hope that's not the case, either way I won't be buying another one after reading all this.

Exactly the same situation for me. Bought my Charge 5 in Nov 2022 and three dsys ago it just died. My previous devisen (Fitbit 2 and Fitbit 4) lasted for longer time so this "crash" was not experter...yet. AND now the message above about "extreme high contact volumes right now"...
I just want my trycker to work. Now everyone tills me to buy an Apple watch instead...

My Charge 5 is working fine. I can’t sync it on the App. Everything seems to have gone downhill since Google acquired Fitbit.

Hello SissyZ! My Charge 5 just died as well have had it for about 2 years, never any trouble until today… now all of a sudden it will not hold a charge for more than a couple hours!
Has anyone had any luck getting anything out of Google?

Interesting seeing how many had theirs die within the last couple of days. Mine just died the other day too. No indication anything was wrong and I bought it in July 2023. Still under warranty so I will reach out again to support. I keep buying them even though this is my 6th one I think. The only one that last lasted beyond a year and a half was my first one. I have had 3 die prior to a year. No dings, scratches, I don’t even shower with them on. It frustrates the crap out of me, but they fit my wrist and I like the features they have. I probably should buy a different brand at this point, but I will work towards a replacement. I even pay for the premium subscription.
Good luck with your replacement!

Mine isn’t dead (yet), but it keeps shutting down unexpectedly and won’t boot up until I plug it in (despite battery not being really low). I purchased mine (a replacement after a different malfunction on my 4 happened) in May 2022 and my problems started almost 2 years to the day. The shut downs are becoming more frequent. And before it only happened when in exercise mode, but today it just shut down out of the blue. It does seem curious many folks are reporting this in recent days and customer service is also experiencing the extremely high volume…

Yes, I agree ever since I synched my fit bit to google - it mucks up. I thought we had to synch to google but apparently not until 2025! So, not tracker is almost useless and I’ve barely had it 12 months. As a retired ppl I’m not able to buy Apple Watch

Google is useless — just a bunch of frequently asked questions. No customer support.

Hello!
I have complained to customer service every time it has happened to me, with the different iteration of Fitbit. They did send me new ones, in the past, but this time I was offered a 50% discount and I bought the 6.
I like the device, I like that it's slim and I like the features. I guess it's my own fault if something happens to the 6 when the 7 comes out, (internet says October), I can't wait 5 months for the 7.
Wish me luck with the 7! 😂

Wow, mine just died too on Thursday. BLACK SCREEN but I still get updates on my phone. Just the screen is dead. 18 months old. Fitbit support says tough, buy a new one. No help or empathy what so ever. I was looking on Amazon, MAN THERE ARE LOTS OF NEW WATCHES. Great prices, more functions. Time for me to try one one those. If I have to buy new every 18 months, I'm not going to pay a Fitbit price.
