How to get a "statement of non-repair" from Fitbit?

My Charge 5 completely died. It's out of Fitbit's warranty, but still covered under my credit card's extended warranty, which will give me a full refund if I just send them a statement from Fitbit saying that it can't be repaired.

I spoke for almost an hour to a rep who walked me through all of the troubleshooting steps and told me she would send me a letter confirming it couldn't be repaired. She instead sent me a canned letter saying I'd be offered a discount on another product.

I replied twice to the message, asking for a statement that it couldn't be repaired. Not only did Fitbit not reply, they just sent me an email closing out my case because "It’s been a little while since we heard from you." (And yes, my emails came from the correct email address, kept the same subject, etc.)

Has anyone ever managed to get a statement on non-repair out of Fitbit? If so, how?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Dr.Drax. I'm sorry to hear about your experience and thank you for sharing your query.

I investigated and Fitbit doesn't provide those statements. When we determine a device is defective, we present the options the customer has according to the warranty status since Fitbit doesn't have repair centers. Maybe your credit card company can help you with another way to get your refund.

Thank you for the heads up @Odyssey13
