Laggy performance

I recently bought a Fitbit charge 5 and have found a considerable lag when swiping across the screen, especially in contrast to swiping down. Is this normal, or is there something wrong with my tracker?

Hello again @dcr007

I tried swiping quickly (I’m not usually in that much of a hurry) and it is marginally slower.  I imagine it’s because the up and down swipes are smoother because you’re keeping your finger on the same screen rather than the sideways movement which is almost like going to different pages or tabs.

You can swipe left or right to access the other apps and may find that it’s quicker to reach a particular screen you want by swiping the opposite way.

Also, when you want to return to the Home Screen, tapping twice takes you straight back really quickly (faster than swiping).

I hope that helps a bit.

Hello @dcr007

I haven't found a difference in the directions of swiping myself.  It might be worth restarting your tracker as that can often help with small problems.

From the Clock Face swipe down until you get to Settings, tap, then swipe up until you get to Restart Device and follow the instructions.  It's very quick and simple and may help.

I hope that helps a bit.

I have restarted it, but the performance hasn't improved. Sometimes, it takes two to three swipes to navigate to different apps from the clock face screen. I should mention that the problem only arises when I try to swipe fast.

Do you face no issues whatsoever when swiping at speed?

Thanks for the swift reply. I just wanted to make sure that it was a universal issue rather than the case of my unit having a faulty screen.

Hello @dcr007

I’m glad I could help a bit.  If you find it irritating switching between screens, it might be an idea to check out this feature suggestion and vote and maybe add a comment.

Order of Apps

Lots of people would like to be able to customize things so they can access the screens they want more quickly.  I voted because I find it a bit irritating myself.
