My experience with Charge 5 and Customer Service

I first had a Fitbit Sense as my first wearable/fitness tracker and I absolutely loved it. Wore it every day, day and night, and happily tracked steps, movements, workouts. It one day completely black screened on me and stopped working after a swim session (normal gym pool, nothing I haven't done before). I noticed condensation under the sensors on the back of the watch face. I was told that my device was outside the warranty period (I had it for about a year an a half) and there was nothing they could do and they offered me a discount code.

I then got a Charge 5 because I couldn't justify the cost for another Sense given how short of a life my first one had. My Charge 5 just crapped out on me at 13 months, again, outside the warranty, and again, with only light usage, and again seeing condensation on the sensors under the back of the watch.

My conclusion frankly is that Fitbit has poorly made products, they are NOT in fact waterproof, and as many have had issues doing just simple things like going out in the rain.. that this brand of wearable is not worth the hype and that there are other companies out there that do the same but better. If you take a look at some competitor reviews on Amazon, you'll see that many of them say "way better than my old fitbit", "used to be a fitbit user for 7 years, switched and never been happier".

I'm really disappointed in this brand especially given the frequency of the same issue brought up by multiple consumers, and no attempt at all from the company to address it beyond just replacement watches and discount codes, all of which never solve the actual problem.
