I have a Fitbit Charge 5 that I bout 2 and a half months ago. It worked well for a couple weeks and then started occasionally not responding when I tried to tap to wake it. It appeared to be in some kind of restart cycle. It also wasn't capturing steps when it was in that mode. At first that only lasted for a few minutes each time but it continually got worse. This past weekend it stopped responding for over an hour I opened a chat with support. They had me do some troubleshooting steps and agreed it was toast so forwarded to the warranty dept. I bought it on Amazon apparently from a third party seller, Safe 'N Quick. The warranty folks said they weren't registered with Fitbit so too bad, we won't honor the warranty, try contacting them. I did and of course they came back with we only allow returns for 30 days, contact Fitbit. So basically I'm screwed.
Interesting thing is on the Today tab in the app it does show my steps, but if I click on that to see the details it says I have 0 steps, and none of the other stats update. And it tells me it hasn't synced in several days. But yet it can see how many steps I have. I suspect Fitbit may have pushed out new software that totally hosed it but they just won't admit it.
I had a Charge 2 previously that I used for several years, but my wife and son each had 2 Charge 2's that only last a few months before they stopped working. Since my experience was good and I was familiar with the app I decided to go ahead and buy a Charge 5 when my old Charge finally stopped working. So our family has now had 5 different Charge devices and 4 of the 5 were total garbage, plus Fitbit won't honor their warranties. I'm done. They have lost me forever. I will NEVER buy another Fitbit product.

I see Fitbit modified my subject. It was Charge 5 stopped working and Fitbit refuses to honor the warranty.
