I bought my first Fitbit in Feb 2022 and it came with a one year warranty. Since then, every 4 months the charge 5 has fully crashed and stopped working, each time the only solution is to just send a replacement cause there is no other option, thankfully for the first year it was covered but it was shared with me the charge 5 does this often, and I’ve confirmed that statement with my own research since having these issues (if only I saw those reviews before my original purchase). I asked what is going to happen once my one year warranty expired and they said nothing, you’ll need to buy a new watch and the 50% replacement discount they offered DURING the one year warranty will also expire. My last replacement happened in Jan 2023 with less than a month before I was left stranded, I did say due to my inability to use the product while I waited for it in the mail each time accumulated an extension on the warranty. So they gave me till march 2023. It’s now June and my watch is fully broken once again. But this time they only offered me 35% off the FULL PRICE of a new charge 5, I capitalized cause the agent and myself logged into the Fitbit site and a charge 5 is already on sale from $199.95 to $149.95 but my 35% would be from the original $199.95 price….ultimately they’re offering me $20 after an awful year of a constantly breaking barge 5 and they just want me to keep paying $129.95 (that’s the 35% discount) every 4 months. Fitbit is unethical, idk how they can keep selling this faulty awful product, it’s obviously on sale on its own cause it’s a failed item, and to try and trick people into just replacing it every 4 months at a % off the original cost is disgusting and I can’t believe this company is still in business. Do not buy this product, Charge 5, under any circumstances, it is a known faulty product that will break and the only solution will be to replace entirely and just pray that you’re still under warranty or else you will pay out of pocket for a device to stop working multiple times a year. I’m so disappointed and couldn’t discourage customer more than from a product like this. $20 does not solve my problem and isn’t incentive enough to reinvest into your company after this treatment.
