New Charge 5

I have been a faithful Fitbit user since 2014 and have worked my way from the basic device to my purchase last Sunday (9/3/23) of a Charge 5.  I would have purchased another Charge 4, but they are not made anymore...I purchased the Charge 5 after nearly two years of my most recent Charge 4 which just died (tried everything to revive it, but it was worn out).  I had a heckofa time trying to set up the new Charge 5.  It was non-responsive.  I have to reset my Bluetooth and restart my phone 6 and 7 times, and was about to give up when the new device finally responded.  So, I totally lost Sunday's tracking, which is a BIG DEAL because my life insurance is based on my physical activity.  Since Sunday, the device has stopped working several times, even thought is is fully charges.  It has not accurately recorded my sleep, and when it is "updating" (no alert that this is about to happen), it does not record my activity.  This afternoon, the battery drained rapidly.  There was no indication that he battery was low and I lost an hour.  Again, this is a BIG DEAL because of my life insurance.  At age 71, one pays attention to these things.  So, what's up with this technology????? How can I get this new device to perform reliably and consistently track my activity?

Hello @ChuckCole

It sounds like you have a defective device. It shouldn't take hours to set up a new Fitbit nor should it lose battery power so rapidly.

Since you purchased it only a few days ago, it's probably best to return it and get a replacement.
