New app update- phone notifications

After the horrible new app update I no longer have a way of choosing which phone notifications I get. If I go to the “notifications” tab it’s a bunch of junk from the Fitbit app itself, but no way of selecting or de-selecting phone calls, texts, calendar etc. Help! Also I HATE this new update.

I haven’t upgraded the app yet but am not getting most notifications (only Weather works). Fitbit tech support tried convincing me that the new app would fix the issue. I don’t believe them.

Hello @SG2132

The notification section you were looking at is only for the Fitbit related notification. Managing notifications from apps on your phone is in a different section of the Fitbit app. Click here to see: how to manage notifications from your phone to your Fitbit

I’ve used my Fitbit for notifications for nearly two years I’m familiar with hiw it’s supposed to work. I made zero changes to anything, except for updating my phone iOS, and now only certain apps send me notifications (weather and Facebook messenger) despite having Calls, Texts, and Reminders also enabled in the app.

At first I thought it was all the Apple-specific apps that were not sending notifications to my FitBit, but the Weather app is an Apple app, and I’m able to get notifications from that app to my Fitbit. But I’m not getting anything else from Apple such as calls, texts, or reminders. I do get Facebook messenger notifications on my Fitbit.

Further investigation revealed I was mistaken about how I had Notifications enabled under phone Settings for certain apps.

Apps have to have notifications set up to show up in Notification Center on iPhones in order for the notifications to get sent to the Fitbit.

In the previous versions of the Fitbit app I could choose which phone notifications I wanted to come through onto the Fitbit. It’s idiotic to have to turn off notifications on my phone to not have them come through on my Fitbit. I stand with my original sentiments. The new update is horrible.
