Notifications are not coming through my Charge 5

Charge 5 is not receiving email or message notifications from Android v13. It is syncing with fitbit app on my phone, just no email or messages coming through. Phone is Galaxy S22 Ultra.

I have rebooted phone. I have rebooted fitbit.

Hi, @Jamey_L May I suggest you review the Fitbit app settings?

From "Settings" on your phone,>apps>Fitbit>permissions, allow all> storage & Cache, clear cache, ensure "pause app if unused is "off">mobile data &WiFi, ensure background data & unrestricted data usage "on" and you have credit in your cellphone account>app battery usage, set at unrestricted (this is because some phones treat your Fitbit app as non-essential & close it down while we need it to run continuously in the background)

I hope this helps.

Cheers

I am still stuck. I have enabled required settings, rebooted phone, rebooted fitbit. As previously stated fitbit is syncing with my phone, and when I go to bluetooth settings on my phone, charge5 is paired. But when I select connect I get "An app is needed to use this device". In developer tools under running services Fitbit shows as 1 process and 1 service.

Thank you for your help. It did not work.

I had all of those settings already minus clearing the cache. After verifying everything again, and rebooting I had no luck.

However, in the Fitbit app, under Account, I clicked on Charge 5, then under General I clicked on notifications and found that Text Messages, Emails etc... were set to the Android defaults, which I am not using. Changed these settings to those I use and it works. In my Bluetooth settings Charge 5 is listed as paired, but not connected. Trying to connect produces the error "An app is needed to use this device" which is misleading as this is not the issue and the apps are syncing. So for future reference for others who may come across this issue:

From "Fitbit app" select profile picture and navigate to Charge 5>General>Notifications to check/set the proper apps for the service to work.

I hope this makes sense as a tool to help others with this issue. And thanks again for you help!

Jamey...
