Partial Premium Refund

Like numerous users, my Charge 5 has become unusable due to the severely diminished battery life. So much so for me, my devise is no longer a viable tool. I contacted support to get prorata refund of my Premium membership and they basically told me to pound sand. Their devise is garbage, can’t be used as intended, but I still have to pay for a service I will no longer be using. Absolute BS. Fitbit and Google are worthless. Any suggestion?

I love the product, but have learned the very hard way that expectations of a fit bit 4 or 5 lasting more than a year, year and half tops are very misplaced.  My wife has an earlier version though that has lasted over close to 5 years and is still working so I have kept up hoping for a better result.  But alas, I've had three fit bit fours, and two fit bit fives.  Only one did I kill, and that was by believing their marketing that you could swim or shower with a fit bit and not destroy it.    All the others were battery/screen response issues that no number of resets or you tube trouble shoot videos could fix.

I do love the product when it works.  It has a lot going for it.  Which is why I have kept going to the well and buying another hoping to get the reliance of earlier versions.   But fit bit has done such a good job lowering my expectations that I started to think of it in terms of disposable product.   You pay the 150 bucks and get a year out of it, that's $ 12.50 a month.  Makes it a bit easier to think of it that way.   Only 42 cents a day to track your exercise!

So I was even considering a six until this morning when I decided to visit this forum and saw all of the update complaints on the five.  I was hoping maybe Google had fixed the problems since their purchase of Fit bit.   The you visit this forum and realize, maybe not.

Through my journey I also learned that they won't warranty anything not purchased directly through fit bit.  And even if they did, it's a prorated deal so the best you one could realistically hope for is a 20% off coupon on a new one.   Fortunately, I never bit on the premium service.  But I suspect based on your message above that it's just another money raking product that they won't stand behind.

So if Google expected Fit bit's reputation to help them compete with Apple it might not have been a very good play.  Wonder what they do with our health data?
