Past exercise I manually added has disappeared

I manually log my swims and gym workouts, and these were all showing fine on the app until this week. This week's are recorded, but all previous weeks (months!) have disappeared, & now only my auto-recognised walks are showing. I have tried force quitting the app, tried bluetooth on and off, phone on and off, reset my fitbit. My Fitbit app is up-to-date. I think I've tried everything. How do I get my swims & gyms back - it's looking like I haven't done any exercise!

I have a similar problem - I’ve lost all of my synced RowErg data from my rowing machine workouts & all I have left are walks. They were there yesterday, but gone today.

I've done all the same things as you, reset my Fitbit & the link between the RowErg. Nothing has worked.

I'm wondering if it’s a Fitbit app issue - wouldn’t surprise me if it’s another useful feature to “disappear”.

Hello @Mandads @Jude_br

I'm seeing some other Charge 5 & 6 users reporting a similar issue with their completed workouts disappearing from their Fitbit app.

I'm going to see about escalating this issue and will report back if I get an update.

Hello @Mandads

Please let us know if your workouts now.

Yesterday, I experienced an issue similar to yours where the additional details for my completed workouts disappeared from the Fitbit app. I actually watched the data disappear from the app for one of my workouts that I completed last week. However, it seemed like it got resolved later in the evening and all my details were back for all my completed workout.

Please let us know if your details also re-appeared. If they haven't, I will try to escalate the issue.

@Jude_br  - I replied to you in the other thread where you posted.

Hi @RiekoC,

This week’s are (so far) still showing, but everything (apart from ordinary walking) from before that is still missing.

Like you, when it first happened I actually saw the data disappear while I was looking at it, but now it’s just not there at all.

I’ve tried all the usual things to fix it but nothing’s worked.

I’d be grateful if you could escalate please - my swims & gyms ARE my exercise.

Thanks muchly

I am having similar issues with a twist. Charge 5 won’t record exercise to the app starting Monday. Wednesday data appeared and even doubled for exercise I entered manually. Everything looked good until Thursday 9/6/24 late afternoon and it all disappeared again. Charge 5 is recording everything but it isn’t being picked up in the app. Did all the resets and app is up to date.

Hello @Mandads  @Jude_br @SonnyV

I looked at the Fitbit Status Dashboard website and saw that there was an issue with the Web API starting around the beginning of September. This impacts data syncing. The current status is still showing the Web API issue as of today, 06 Sep 2024. So, they must still be working on fixing the problem.

Please be patient. I'll keep checking the status daily. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before it's fixed and we see all our exercise data again.

Same issue here, I manually record swimming and some of the historical data has disappeared.  It seems to be a rolling three day window that stays. My last three swims are still there, yesterday it was the three previous days, etc.  I've heard on other boards that FitBit recognizes the issue and is working on a fix.  It seems to have been effective Sept 1 or somewhere around that date...

Hello @jalien @FCD

I checked the Fitbit Status Dashboard this morning (08 Sep 2024) and the issue is still showing for the Web API. Even though the description mentions "3P" (3rd party) apps, the timing of when this issue started is about the same time that many of us started seeing issues with our exercise data in the Fitbit app.

Please continue to be patient. Since this issue has been on-going for over a week, I suspect the fix isn't an easy one.

Thanks for the info. It's frustrating having data just disappear but helpful to have some information on it. With such a big issue, Fitbit should've sent something out.

Hi @jalien

I understand your frustration. I actually watched data from one of my workouts disappear from the Fitbit app. It was a strange experience. Thankfully, it eventually returned the next day. I know there's still an issue with exercise data, so I don't try to do any troubleshooting for now.

Just to let you know, I've seen some users reporting issues with step syncing or missing steps as well. I suspect this could be related to the same Web API issue.

Hi! I think I've got the same issue as some on this forum. Workouts that were logged automatically and by using the Fitbit Luxe watch workout setting has disappeared from my exercise log. Whole weeks are gone going back to the first of the year. Are you provide an update on this on-going issue? Thanks!!

Hello @RS090924

I don't have an "official" update. For what it's worth, another user experiencing the same issue reported yesterday (09 Sep 2024) that Support told them the problem should be fixed in 3 days. Hopefully, that information is correct and we only have to wait a few more days to see all our exercise data back in the app.

I’m having the same problem. All of my manually added exercises are completely gone from the app. This is so frustrating!

Hello @Ahoppz

I saw a Moderator post acknowledging syncing issues and data transfer errors. The Moderator said the team is working on a fix.

For now, there's nothing we can do on our side. We have to wait for the fix to roll out, despite how frustrating this situation is.

I have been having a similar issue for 2 weeks now. The app deleted chunks of information from my swims and severely decreased my burned calories. It also does not sync all my walks, I have to manually enter them. Everytime I contact support they have me do all the same stuff over and over. None of helps. I am working on my health and not being able to properly track my workouts is frustrating. I hope this is resolved soon or I will have to find another watch and app that is more reliable.

Yes, all manually  logged data has gone. The calories burnt for new exercise has also changed (manually logged and auto detected). A swim of over a kilometre was only forty cal burn tonight. It used to be well over one hundred depending on pace. I tried to manually overwrite it, but the higher cal burn went down as I entered the activity. This is all becoming so boring.

This is exactly what’s happening to me. My recent manually-added swims are now recorded, but showing minimal calories, and the app’s not auto recording all the walks although they are showing as ‘intense activity’ under ‘zone minutes on the dashboard! Please let this be resolved soon @RiekoC
