Hi There,
My previous Fitbit (old) had a plain, mono interface but I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the endless fruit salad on my new Charge 5.
Questions
- Can you set (or create) a plain interface for a Charge 5?
- Can you remove apps to make everything simpler (more of a tracker, not a watch)
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers, Ben

Hello @BenSS
You can customize the Today page so it displays only the information that you want to see. Although it may not be as plain as you might like, you can remove and rearrange the various metrics so there's a little less "clutter". See the links below for instructions on how to do this:
- Android: How to get the most from the new Fitbit app
- iOS: How to get the most from the new Fitbit app
To remove apps from the Charge 5:
- Tap on the device icon in the upper left of the Today page in the Fitbit app
- Tap on the Charge 5 tile
- Tap on Gallery
- Tap on Apps
- From here, you can scroll through the list of the Charge 5 apps and uninstall the ones you don't want.
If you want to stop getting notifications from your phone for your calls, texts, and calendar, the instructions on how to do this are available here: Notifications from your phone (<-- click link)

Thanks for the reply, very much appreciated. A quick question, how exactly do I uninstall each app? I couldn’t see anything in the link either sorry.
I can find the apps, and I see an ‘Installed’ button but nothing happens if I tap the button or swipe etc. Here’s what I see, what’s the trick to uninstalling the app?
Any help much appreciated. Cheers, Ben

Hi @BenSS
I believe there are only a few Charge 5 Fitbit apps that can be uninstalled, like the ECG and EDA apps. Although you can't uninstall the Timers app, you can simply ignore and not use the app.
Even though you may have uninstalled an app, the tile will still appear on your device. Personally, I prefer that the app tile doesn't show for a cleaner experience, but it currently doesn't work that way.

@RiekoC Thanks for the reply,
I'm not 100% sure what 'tie' and 'ignore' mean but if I understand you correctly, you can't remove/hide stuff when swiping on the watch - is that right?
So for example, I never want to see Notifications or Timers (and most of the other stuff) when swiping but you can't disable or hide them from the interface. I could do this previously but not on the Charge 5 - correct?
Sorry of this is easy, it just makes zero sense to have a tracker full of clutter - I'd buy a watch if I wanted clutter!
Cheers, Ben

Hi @BenSS
The "tiles" are the screens that you see when you swipe right or left from the main clock face. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to remove the ones you don't want or use. Nor is there a way to re-arrange them to make them more convenient for accessing.
You can turn off most of the Notifications, especially those from your phone, so that they don't show. This page gives instructions on how to manage notifications from your phone (<-- click link). There are notifications that you might want to keep, like low battery. To manage those notifications:
- Tap on your picture/icon (Android) / gear icon (iOS) in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app
- Tap on Fitbit settings
- Tap on Notifications
- On this page, you can turn off push notifications (these go to your Charge 5) and email notifications
Let us know if there's anything else you'd like to do in setting up your Charge 5.

comprehensive interface, you can customize it for a simpler look. On the device, go to Settings > Clock Faces > Customize. You can select a minimal clock face and adjust the stats displayed. As for apps, unfortunately, Fitbit devices don't allow the removal of built-in apps.
