My fitbit charge 5 randomly died after a 5 hour bike ride, no GPS tracking. It was charged at 54% to start the day. It was working perfectly and then just died. When I connect it to the charger, it vibrates, displays the fitbit logo then shows 04/10 100%. When disconnected it does not respond and I have tried doing the hard restart with the charger multiple times with no result differing from the above display.
Frustrating and strange. This is my second charge 5 in less than a month due to faulty issues.
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

No. When connected to the charger, it won't actively adjust the time with out syncing. It only has the display on when connected to the charger, even after many restarts.
When disconnected from charger, screen is black and unresponsive.

Somewhere I saw where someone suggested changing the clock face through the app to fix the black screen. It's worth a try. Good luck

Okay so update after trying to swap out clock faces. Still the screen is blacked out. I think something is wrong with the battery/ charging interface. For a second it shows that is not at 100% and instead shows that the unit is at 50% and has the orange charging outline around it. Something seems to have gotten fried. I also know that the device is not at 100% because it hasn't been on the charger for a while so it should be at least a little lower. Anyways thanks for the suggestion but it did not solve the issue on my device.
