My Wife and I each have a Charge 5 and every Saturday and Sunday morning, we walk the between 6 & 8 miles. Logically, I would expect our fitbits to register the same (rough) distance for each of us but every time her distance is between .5 and 1 mile more than mine. We both have iPhones (mines a 12, her a 13) and the settings on both of our Fitbits are the same and GPS is set to Dynamic. How is it that we register such glaring differences? Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had the same problem and I was told that, in addition to the GPS being configured in "dynamic mode" in the settings tab, it is also necessary to activate the GPS in the exercise screen, otherwise the record of the distance traveled will be based on the length and amount of steps of each of you. This solved my problem.

My situation is similar. Since I just got my Charge 5 less than a month ago, I continue to use MayMyWalk and now Charge 5. I have my Charge 5 set to use the iPhone GPS which MayMyWalk uses. So you would expect the data to be the same....well it isn't. Sometimes the distance is off by .5 miles. And the pace data never aligns.

There are two ways to measure distance on fitibit. If the GPS is activated, the distance will be established by it. If not, the distance will be established by the length of the step configured on your device x the number of steps, and will be different for each person sharing the same route.
