Seemingly bricked?

About two weeks ago, my wife's Charge 5 died. It could be reset using the cable by pressing the buttons 3 times, with the fitbit logo coming up, but the tracker itself remained unresponsive.

Fortunately for her, I got a Pixel Watch 2 with my Pixel 8 Pro purchase, so she's on to that now.

Unfortunately for me though, my Charge 5 started doing the same thing! I can connect to it enough to do a sync or update, but it doesn't seem to record any data and the screen doesn't turn on other than when it resets or does the update. No matter what I try, it doesn't seem usable anymore. There are a heap of updates to the inbuilt apps which don't seem to be updating, but other than that, I can't find an issue.

Is there some kind of hard reset I can do or any other options?

Mine has been the same since Fitbit pushed the firmware update out. I tried the steps to recover it and that's when it went completely black. And they won't support the product that their update bricked because it was 14 months old. I moved on to an Amazfit Band 7 as I refuse to patronize a company that won't stand behind their products. They should be replacing every single fitness band that their firmware update bricked.
