Hi,
last week I upgraded my Charge 3 to Charge 5, primarily to better use the sleep features combined w/ Premium. Overall I am very happy now with the color screen and the new features.
My problem is to understand how to manage the sleep data processing.
I keep the band on at night. Default settings except that the sleeptime is set to 00:00 - 08:00.
I had one night that I saw the sleep score after synchronization automatically. After that one night, no sleep scores anymore.
QUESTION: do I have to do more in the app to see the sleep score?
Bypass:
Just now I signed on to the desktop dashboard for debugging and clicked the sleep tile. Then noticed that there was an import button, there were input fields for start- and end-time, pre-filled with yesterdays date. I just clicked the button, then the sleep data for past night (today 00:00-08:00) showed up. Also in the iPhone app the sleep score for today was now visible with the graph for the different stages. Well, obviously I am happy that the data was collected OK.
Now, is this the normal procedure to calculate the sleep score?

Usually the sleep score should turn up in the App on your phone shortly after you sync your Charge 5 after waking up. There’s usually a slight delay between the report and the sleep score.
If you keep Bluetooth on and sync and check your Charge 5, it should turn up there too.
I’ve never needed to go into the Dashboard on my computer to do it.
Can I just check something please? When you say ‘Sleeptime is set between 00:00 - 08:00, do you mean that you’ve turned on Sleep Mode on your tracker or set those as your target sleep and wake up times on your App? I’m just trying to work out why it didn’t show up on your App promptly.
More information might help to find out what’s happening and other people might jump in with ideas.

Setting your sleep schedule like that shouldn’t affect how you get your score at all.
It might be worth restarting your Charge 5 as that can often fix small problems.
On your Charge 5, scroll down from the Clock Face until you get to Settings, tap, then scroll up until you get to Restart Device tap and follow the instructions. It’s really quick and easy to do and won’t affect your stats at all.
In the past I’ve had some small glitch (I can’t even remember what it was now) and restarting the device fixed it. Maybe you could restart it some time before bedtime and then see what happens with your stats in the morning.
If you have an Android phone, clearing the cache for the App might help too.

Well, today jan.11 next try. No sleep score!
Woke up, I sync'ed my Charge 5. No data visible, after click on the sleep tile.
on the week sleep score screen, clicked the settings icon and then Save the sleep log.
after a while, result on the sleep tile: 1 hr 6 min.
I assume no score since this is less than 3 hrs.
tomorrow next try.

Today no sleep score yet..
After sync Today sleep data 7 hr 14 min after manual intervention "Add sleep log". Just a line, no graph for Today.
Changed Sleep sensitivity to Normal. Check in tomorrow again.

Well, sync'ed my Charge 5 (pull down the Today screen) and put it away for 30 mins.
The result for Sleep was that I had 2 sleep logs. #1 1 hr 18 min. #2 2 hr 13 min. No sleep score yet.
a breakdown in stages awake and restless.
Then I read the Help file >here How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
I concluded that
For now I just let it go. I am confident that in a after a while I will see a sleep score on my Charge 5.
All other features I am satisfied about, the color screen and readability, notifications, GPS features during exercises, comfort of the band, I hardly notice it while wearing, the Premium programs, I need more time to study in detail.

I've been following your experiments. Yes, it makes much more sense to just let the Fitbit do everything automatically as it seems to be the most effective way, and as I said before, I've never had a need to go into the Dashboard to do it.
I nearly sent you a message to suggest turning off Bluetooth before going to bed (if you don't need it for messages) and then turning it on the morning and pulling down to sync as that's what usually works for me. For the first time ever, I went to sleep with Bluetooth connected and was worried about what would happen to my sleep tracking, but when I pulled down on the screen to sync, it was fine.
I wear it on my non-dominant wrist, on the normal setting and do nothing apart from sleep and it seems to work.
