Sleep tracking

When I try to add sleep stages to my fitbit today page, the option is grayed out and says the product doesn’t have a heart rate sensor, even though it does.  The actual fitbit itself has the sleep mode option but isn’t tracking.  Can anyone help?  Just got the charge 5 2 days ago

That sounds strange!  Did it set up and pair properly in the beginning? It is listing your device as a Charge 5, isn't it?

 

It might be worth deleting and reinstalling the App on your phone and then trying to pair again.    

 

Is the heart rate tracker working?  Is a green light flashing on the back and can you see a number for it on your tracker?  If you can't, scroll down from the Clock Face screen until you get to Settings, tap, then scroll up to Heart Rate and check that it's set to On.

 

If that's not the problem, try restarting your Charge 5, follow the same steps as before but keep scrolling until you get to Restart Device.

 

I hope some of that helps a bit.
