Still receiving notifications on Charge 5 in Exercise Focus

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

I have "Exercise Focus" turned on in the Settings of the Charge 5. From what I can tell, it's supposed to turn off notifications when I am using the exercise tracking. For example, I select Boot Camp and Start - and I shouldn't receive any notifications except for my heart rate while I'm actively tracking my workout.

This is not working, I am still receiving notifications for calls and texts. If I put my Charge on "Do Not Disturb" then I don't get heart rate notifications.

Am I understanding "Exercise Focus" correctly, and if so - is this a known issue?

I hate getting text messages while I'm at the gym, and I don't want to manually set my cell to "Do Not Disturb" each time ☹️

Thanks!!

It’s good to see you in the community, @SpiffyMagpie.

Thanks for the details shared in your post. I understand how you are feeling about this situation and thank you for sharing your concern. The Exercise Focus setting should silence notifications while you work out using the Exercise app. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device? I recommend restarting and manually syncing your device after switching to Exercise Focus: How do I manually sync my tracker or watch?

Hope this helps.

Hi, I performed the above steps and I'm still getting notifications while using the Exercise mode.

Restarted Charge 5.

I toggled Exercise Focus on/off and back on again.

Manually synced with the Fitbit App.

Started Exercise using 'Weights'.

Received text notification that trigged on my Charge.

It's not just specific to texts either, my other notifications (email, calendar) also interrupt so it doesn't appear related to the text application I'm using.

I have this same problem.  Was a defaulting ever found?

I'm still having the same issue, I never contacted the Support desk because I just didn't want to get involved in all the troubleshooting.

I try to remember to put my phone on Do Not Disturb while exercising but I do wish this worked ☹️

Me too still, I was hoping the latest update would fix it - but no luck 😞

I have the same issue. I tried to use the Live Chat to report the issue and it was bananas. Is there a bot on the other end? They tried to tell me the feature was for collecting "an accurate data" even though this has nothing to do with data collection. Also they said it was collecting bad data because I wear t Fitbit on my non dominant hand. You can't make this stuff up.

Sorry LiliyaFitbit.  This feature doesn't seem to work on the Charge 5.  I'd love to chat with your bot's, but honestly I'd rather if it could just be fixed.

I have the same problem with my Charge 5.  It's infuriating to try and check your pulse or your pace only to see a screen telling you that you're earning zone minutes, cause that's important, or that I'm in fat burn, or in cardio, or in peak, or that I made my steps for the day or pretty much anything other than what I'm looking for.  Exercise Focus just does not work on the Charge 5.

And 'Notifications' has no business being on a fitness tracker.
