Fitbit Charge 5, one year of premium membership and 2-Year Protection Plan for Charge 5 purchased May 22, 2022 on fitbit.com, logged as order number 0ubmpc0nlytde. The Charge 5 when belly up after notification of update while traveling between December 25, 2022 and January 1, 2023. Given the default Fitbit warranty is one year in the United States of America and the device self-bricked within that one year period and I am now being shipped a replacement and the warranty wording for replacements makes the 2-Year Protection Plan for Charge 5 null and void... I would like the $19.99 cost for the extended warranty refunded.

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @BobsURuncle.
Thank you for sharing all these details about the inconvenience you've been having with your Charge 5 and for confirming that you already tried a few troubleshooting steps.
I've been informed that you have contacted the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. In this case, and since this is also related to the warranty status, I do recommend that you continue the communication with them so they can let you know how to proceed or what are the options available for you.
See you around in the Community.
