Tracking a dirtbike ride

I used the fitbit to track a dirtbike ride. It recorded the GPS perfectly and I'm able to see my heart rate during the ride. I used the activity type "Outdoor activity" because I figured if I used "Bike" it would upload it to Strava which I definitely don't want. During my ride it said I took 25,000 steps. I didn't take any steps, it must be picking up the vibrations of the ride.

Can I tell a particular activity type to not track steps? Or perhaps set it up so that activity type is "Driving" so it doesn't track steps?

I assume if I recorded it as "bike" it wouldn't track steps. Can I then tell that exercise to not upload to Strava?
