My fitbit Charge 5 has lost sleep data on 2 occasions now. On the 1st, it didn't log it at all and this morning it logged only 20 minutes. Both times seemed to have sync issues in the morning, today was especially annoying taking me a half hour or more of troubleshooting restarting the fitbit, pulse restarting, restarting the phone, recharging the fitbit, (was around 70%), and finally reinstalling the app. It works now but the data is still missing.
Is there any suggestions to prevent these issues in the future, maybe even retrieve the missing data ?

I think I have my particular issue sussed out and solved. Where the fitbit app fails to record any sleep data at all. It seems the Fitbit itself can't fully re-establish the bluetooth connection to transfer data when it has been further than 35 ft, (bluetooth range), away from your paired device ie Phone or tablet, it can show heart rate and stuff but won't upload stored data. Solution is to restart the fitbit while near the device and wait, the data will upload once it has re-established the connection, can take a few min to an hour or more but its there... On one occasion I had lost almost a week worth of data after forgetting my fitbit on the charger when I went to work one day, restarted the fitbit and it was all in the app within an hour or 2 so the fitbit itself can store a fair amount of data. Another time lost 3 days of data, similar circumstances, restarted the fitbit and it all populated in the app within an hour.
Another issue I had early on is the fitbit loosing contact with my wrist, it slides up and down on my bony wrist... Haven't had an issue since I started wearing it with the screen on the inside of my wrist, the sensors are on flatter, softer skin and won't lose contact if it slides.

Ive gone on and off with these devices. My fitbit sometimes records me as sleeping when I'm walking around. I'm selling mine, but if you aren't really looking for accurate data you can just live with it. There are multiple posts like this which are unresolved.

This is what happens most nights, I sleep for 7+ but the fitbit charge 5 doesn't track correctly. I was in bed by 11pm and awake by 9am.

I have had no problems with sleep data - up until the last week. Last night it recorded as me not falling asleep until 2.30am, yet recorded no steps from about 10.30pm. My heart rate was patchy during the day, which I don’t understand, but was fine overnight for recording.
last week it completely missed out sleep, although heart rate was recorded.
on both days no stress management score and no readiness score.
Given I have been -aging for premium I am disappointed. I have cancelled my premium subscription from this month and now wonder if there is a feature built in to irritate me post cancellation. Given I have worn this Fitbit since June last year without problems I suspect given others postings that this is a software bug!
