My screen wake mode is stuck on Manual. Doesn’t respond when I tap. Seems to be greyed out. Tried restarting device but doesn’t help. I bought the device a couple of weeks ago and mode was Auto but somehow it auto-changed to Manual.

This just happened to me. If you haven't resolved this problem try making sure sleep mode is off. That option is just below the sleep wake screen. I found this by accident. Once sleep mode was off I was able to adjust the wake screen wake mode again. Hope this helps.
Hello,
Where are you trying to change the screen wake setting from? There seem to be 2 different ways to do it on your Charge 5 screen.
If one of them hasn’t been working, how about trying the other, just in case…
The quickest one is scroll down from the clock face and the Screen Wake button is there and you can tap to change between Auto and Manual.
The second way is to scroll down from the clock face but this time choose Settings. Then Display Settings, then down to Screen Wake and you can try changing there too by tapping to select Auto or Manual.
If you’ve already tried both ways and restarted and it didn’t work, then I’m not sure.
Have you also checked for App and Charge 5 updates? That can also make a difference sometimes. Remember to sync regularly too.
I hope it helps a bit.
Thanks, Wibby. Tried changing the 2 ways that you mention but same result. Cannot change because the Screen Wake mode is greyed out and cannot be changed from Manual to Auto. Restarting doesn’t fix the problem and I do sync regularly. Have checked but no updates that need to be installed.
Best AnswerI'm sorry to hear that.
I WAS going to suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the settings App, but it's impossible (I didn't realize that until now)! I've been wracking my brains all day and couldn't think of anything else obvious.
The only other things I can think of are unpairing from Bluetooth by choosing forget this device. Then repairing with your phone. Restarting your Fitbit from the device one more time and checking for updates for both the App and the Charge 5 again.
Is it just the Screen Wake button that's greyed out? Would it be possible to take a picture of what you can see and upload it here? Sometimes that prompts people with ideas.
Hopefully someone very knowledgeable will pop up and give some better advice.
If none of those things work, it's probably time to contact support for technical advice.

Tried unpairing and re-pairing to my phone. Restarted. Checked updates but no joy.
Am now in touch with support. Will update if they manage to rectify.
I have photos but not clear how to upload on this forum. Screen Wake looks greyed out to me but my only reference point is the other icons.

Thanks! Appreciate you taking the time to help me solve this mystery.
FWIW my charge 5 got stuck on two taps to wake and would not wake when I raised my arm. It was remedied after a lot of frustration when I noticed that swim mode was on even though I've never used swim mode. Turning that off resolved it. I've only had the Charge 5 for a few days but I have to say so far I am under impressed.
