Unicode support on Charge 5 notifications

Got the Charge 5 (upgraded from Charge 3) and there's one major deal-breaker: It seems that Unicode is not supported via notifications.

That was a surprise to me given Charge 3 does support it.

I've read on other forums that other models have a similar issue, and making an educated assumption that Charge 3 is using that "other" models OS flavor? 

 

Anyway, getting non-English notifications is a big deal (to me). Hope there's a solution to that
