Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @Tobi22

I appreciate all the information that you've shared about the problem you're experiencing with your Charge 5 and that you already tried to set up the the vibration mode

As you mentioned earlier, your Charge 5 should vibrate when you receive a notification. Before considering other options, please try setting up a silent alarm to check if the vibration motor is working properly. In addition, make sure that you've also tried a restart procedure and disable the Do not Disturb and Sleep Modes on your device's settings.

I'll be around.

I am having a similar problem but nothing I have tried has created a vibration when I receive a call or text.  I verified with an alarm that the device does vibrate.  The Fitbit's DND and Sleep modes are off.  My iphone settings allow shared contact.  I have restarted twice. What else can I try?  I have been at this for about 4 hours now. If it won't vibrate to tell me a notification is arriving then this device is not useful to me.  Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the exact same issue with my new Charge 5, it will not vibrate when I get calls or text messages or any other notifications.  I also checked all the settings and restarted the device.  Still does not work.  Only time I can get the device to vibrate is with the Countdown Timer function (not Alarm, calls or text messages).  If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

Just had a helpful chat with support.  They had me turn off notifications in the phone fitbit app, then restart my phone, then go back into the app and turn on notifications again.  My charge 5 now vibrates for all notifications.

Actually, after attempting all recommended steps, nothing changed. I returned that device (noting the vibration issue) and purchased another Charge 5. It set up perfectly on the first try and has been working great. So something was just not quite right with my original device.

Had the same issue. It happened suddenly. Tried to restart iOS app and device itself, checked that DND and Sleep mode both were "off". Didn't solve the issue. Contacted Fitbit support and they asked if there was a pending iOS software update? Yes, there was. So installed the update and problem solved. (Would be good if Fitbit could document this. Also, not sure why this should have impacted vibrations in the first place.)

Thanks for the input. Yes, I activated all updates but that did not help. I ended up returning that device and buying another. The 2nd Charge 5 has worked perfectly from activation. I think my first one was just defective.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the information provided about this inconvenience with your Charge 5.

@Amund It's great to know the issue was resolved after the iOS update. Thanks for sharing this update!

@mms-austinmaker I'm sorry to see that you had to return your device due to this inconvenience with the vibration.

@LMCook55 The notification you mentioned earlier is the Reminder to move. Make sure this feature is turned on following these steps:

  • On the Today tab, tap the hourly activity tile.

DavideFitbit_0-1676041516615.png

  • Tap the gear icon > turn Reminders to Move on or off.

If the feature is already turned on, you can also try changing the time when you can receive reminders to move. You can change the hours or days of the week that you track your hourly activity goal (for example, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays). You can find more information in this article

Regarding other notifications, you can follow the steps listed here. About the option to edit the exercises, could you please provide a few more details?
