What does this mean??

I noticed that one of the bars on the backside of my charge 5 turned white. What does this mean? I just purchased this in January 2023.

Well, mines white too and it is working just fine.  I cannot say whether this is a change, but I am guessing not.  If yours is working too, then I wouldn’t worry about it.

I just checked my Charge 5 and, like @Julia_G , that bar on my device is also white in that position. Unless you are seeing issues with tracking your health metrics, you should be fine.
