Why does the alarm go of when I am not wearing it?

As the title says... the alarm goes of while I am not wearing it. It tracks my heartbeat so it knows when I am not wearing it, so why does the alarm goes off when I am not wearing it? I had the charge 4 which did the same thing and now the 5 and I really hoped that some developer noticed this it by now.

Hi, @skizmo that is how it is designed!  The only alarm that is based on heart rate is the smart wake up alarm, and if it doesn’t detect your heart rate to know you are awake, then it will go off at the scheduled time.  I don’t think most users would be happy if their alarms stopped working if they had temporarily (for whatever reason) turned off their heart rate detection, or if it temporarily failed because you happened to be sleeping with a flexed wrist and heart rate detection was interrupted!

If you would like to have alarms disabled when not on wrist you could try making this suggestion in the Product Feedback Forum , but I am not sure it would get much traction from other users.

In the meantime you can feel confident that your Fitbit is working as designed.
