Hi, I currently have a charge 3 & this does not add false steps whilst driving, however, i am considering getting a charge 5, does anybody that has 1 know if the charge 5 adds false steps or will it be the same as the charge 3?.

Hello @Gooner1959
I've done long drives with my Charge 5. Sometimes I get a few false steps when the road is very bumpy, but not very often.
You might want to consider getting the Charge 6 instead of the Charge 5, especially considering that inventory for new Charge 5 devices is quickly dwindling.
Just to let you know, if you used your Charge 3 to track floors, both the Charge 5 & 6 do not have altimeters and don't track floors. You might want to check out the features of the Charge 5 & 6 to make sure you get the right device that will meet your needs.

Hello there, @Gooner1959. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm glad to hear you're interested in upgrading your Charge 3 with the Charge 5. I'll be glad to answer your inquiry.
Please note, wrist trackers count steps depending on the movement of your arms. Fitbit has worked hard to make sure that our devices do not pick up false steps or activity recordings while driving. Unless you're driving in a car with a very stiff transmission or on bumpy roads, your device should not give you false readings. You can learn more about how your Fitbit tracks steps by checking the article How accurate are Fitbit devices?
If you want to know more about the Charge 5, I'd like to share with you the Charge 5 User Manual so you have the chance to get to know it a bit better.
On the other hand, we recommend checking out our comparison page at https://www.fitbit.com/compare, where you can see at a glance the features that each Fitbit tracker and watch provides.
Hope you have a good day.
