I live in Canada and sometimes similar ECG features on other smartwatches/bands don't get approval. So just wondering if Fitbit has been given approval for ECG feature for the Canadian market at Launch day.

Hi @Mwake
It's worth mentioning that the Charge 5 product page mentions the following regarding the ECG app/feature.
Keep track of your heart health with a compatible ECG app that assesses your heart for atrial fibrillation—a heart rhythm irregularity—and share the results with your doctor.* Coming Soon.
From this statement it doesn't appear that the Charge 5 will ship with the feature out of the box on launch day.
With that said the Sense ECG is supported in Canada, so I can't imagine the Charge 5 being different. The following ECG product page (here) has this list of supported countries for the Charge 5.

Thanks that's an awesome reply. I was going to get the Witihngs Scanwatch because it had a similar feature but unfortunately the ECG hardware which is in the device wasn't allowed to be enabled because Withins couldn't secure health regulatory approval in Canada. Glad to hear the Sense has had approval so this should be good news for the Charge 5.

Withings tried for a long time to get scanwatch approval in the US and FDA has still not approved it. I will say that when I bought my Fitbit Sense I was surprised at how quickly the FDA approved the ECG app. With Google behind Fitbit I expect regulatory authorities to approve things quickly in those countries listed above.
