declining quality

I’ve been using Fitbit devices for several years.  I’ve had four of them to date.  I’ve noticed that with each device, the longevity had gone down.  The first one lasted for over 3 years.  After that…. 2 yrs, 2 yrs and now my Charge 5 has lasted for just 1 year.  I have had some challenges with past devices but Fitbit has been pretty supportive and actually helpful.  This time however, reaching out to Fitbit has produced no resolution and feels like getting the middle finger.  

I’ve done a lot of promoting of Fitbit in the past because I like the smaller size coupled with good functionality.  The addition of payment capabilities is excellent and gets attention so, I’ve talked up the products.  Now I feel like I have set people up for bad experiences with Fitbit.

i’m looking through the posts in this forum and see I am far from being the only one having a less than acceptable experience with Fitbit.  

From my perspective when quality goes down in concert with customer service, that is cause for pause.
