doesn't detect excersize?

I spend an hour a day in a hot yoga studio... heart rate up, sweating profusely...

And the charge 5 seems not to recognize at all that exercise occurred.

Is there a solve?

@samjones3 unfortunately, yoga is not one of the exercises that your Charge 5 can recognize automatically. You can still log today's yoga session though. The instructions to do that are here

You can also edit the list of exercises tracked by the Charge 5, so you can log yoga in real time in the future. In the Fitbit app tap your profile image. Select Charge 5 and then Exercise Shortcuts. You may have to remove one of the exercises that is already on the list in order to be able to add yoga.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, both the instructions you linked to and what you wrote do not correspond to the workflow in the app I use.

I am on android, have premium enabled, and can find the list of exercises in the app. However there is no option to delete or trash an exercise nor to add one.

So this question is wide open on TWO fronts:

a) How to log manually

b) I am working out like a horse for 40 to 60 minutes. Why do I need to interact with the Charge at all? Why doesn't it just auto detect based on my pulse and varying SPO2?

To manually log yoga, you first open the Fitbit app. Tap on the plus sign (+) on the exercise tile. In the screen that opens, write "yoga" in the Exercise Type field. Enter start time and date in the Start Time field. Enter the duration on your yoga session in time Duration field. Tap the Log It button in the bottom right to save your information.

If you prefer to track it in real time, you may need to add yoga to the list of activities on your device. From the Today tab, tap your profile picture. Select the Charge 5. Tap Exercise Shortcuts. To remove a shortcut, swipe left and delete. To add a shortcut, tap on + and select the type of exercise your want to add. Then sync your device.

Yoga is not currently among the exercises that are automatically recognized by your Charge 5. There is a suggestion here that it be added in the future and you can add your vote there if you wish.

I played 90 minutes of tennis today but no exercise appeared. Charge 5 notes that I had 146 Active Minutes but won't break them down. Readiness says my activity has been "light" -- uh, no. The thing is syncing like crazy but not showing me calories burned nor recording an activity.

Whatever your app point of reference is, it is not the app on my phone (newly installed from google app store about 2 weeks ago)

Your workflow does not work in my app.

I tried following your steps and was unable to add any exercise other than run.walk.hike.

Let's move on and accept that this is not going to happen (adding yoga to my list)

The MATERIAL PROBLEM here is that my heart is pounding for an hour, and fitbit appears not to log it as exercise. That is a MATERIAL PROBLEM WITH THIS DEVICE (why? because the device alleges to be an exercise tracker).

End of story.
