On my Charge3 device, heart rates of 80-85 bpm gave me a "100% Fat Burn" rating - consistently. That device died and I bought a Charge5 to replace it. On this device a heart rate of 97bpm gives me a "below zone" rating when I download it to the Fitbit website. I tried to speak with a support person on the phone and I don't think he understood my questions. All he could offer me was to 'reset' the device; he gave me a case number, and said if the problem persists to call back. It seems to me that the issue would be in the Fitbit software and how it interprets the heart rate data, not in the device itself. either way, I'd still like to know why there is such a wide discrepancy in the 2 devices' ratings. can anyone offer a reasonable explanation? did I not configure the device correctly when I initially set it up?

The Charge 5, and all other newer devices, calculate the heart rate zones differently, and also use Zone Minutes instead of Active Minutes.
You can read about the zones at How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device? and scroll down to "What are Heart Rate Zones."

Can you customize the heart rate zones on the Charge 5?
