I really have to flick my wrist to get the time and there is some delay. Is there a sensitivity control? It does work sometimes but I really have to snap it.

There are no sensitivity settings I'm sorry to say, it's just a matter of getting used to the action that works best for you.

Thanks that is what I feared. I am still a little unsure of what to do with this thing but I am hoping it will help we lose weight and exercise more. So far it is a cool watch and syncs steps with MyFitnessPal.

I use MyFitnessPal too. I log my food eaten and it syncs over to fitbit. Have you looked at setting up a food plan in fitbit? This compares you calories in/out and lets you know how much more you can eat that day and still meet your weight loss target.
