Bug - Generic Android app icon appears for text message notifications

What seems to show up as an app icon on the notification is the teal "no app icon" placeholder when I get a message. It's not critical but surely is an eyesore.

Anyone else seen this happening?

Is it a problem with the Android app or Android operating system?

The message shown is an automated reply, but the same happens with a named contact.
