Can't add HSBC AU Card

HSBC AU Card - can add to google pay on the phone, not on Fitbit App.

When adding on the phone, offers verification via text to mobile number.

When adding to the Fitbit Google Wallet, only offers verification via code to email, which it fails to send.

Card is supposedly supported, according to the supported list, yet as per many other posts, HSBC cards are not working.  I wish I'd read the forum posts before buying.

I'm going to ask you to check one thing for me, as I found out this was the reason I wasn't able to make payments with my Wallet app.  I assume HSBC AU has a mobile app, correct?  Can you check that app and see if there's a setting for NFC payments?  If it's off, please turn it on.

Yes, the ability to make NFC payments turned on.

I had some geographic restrictions turned on, but I turned off all restrictions and still could not add the card to the wallet - well, to be precise, I can add the card, but I can't validate it: It won't send the verification as the only option is via email, and it just fails.

I accept the conditions, it says "Processing card details...", and then says "Your bank needs to verify that it's you" with an image of the card, and says "You'll receive an email at ******@******.COM from your bank with a verification code.  Unlike most other cards where it offers a choice of methods, including an SMS, it just offers email.

It then says, after you choose the button to send the email "Something went wrong. Please try again. Dismiss".

The card is added to the wallet, but with "Verification Needed"

I can (and do) make mobile NFC payments on my phone.

Same situation here.

And I found out that HSBC AU isn't in the supported bank list: https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/fitbit-pay/banks

That's the wrong list - that's the list for Fitbit Pay - you want the list for Google Pay - https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/google-apps/banks which does list HSBC Bank Australia Limited.  Interestingly enough it doesn't list Commonwealth Bank, but I could add my CBA card 🤷‍:male_sign:
